The House - non-profit story
Our work began in 2022 when Canadian artist, E. Laurence Bake donated the complete library of his life's work to The Poet's House. This artistic treasure included over 50 years of poetic works—writings, paintings, illustrations, books, poems, musical compositions, research & studies, and more.
In accordance with Laurence's wishes: "We administer the proceeds from these artistic works, so the money is used to help fund and inspire worthwhile projects that help build a better world, and DEFEND FREEDOM OF THOUGHT, SPEECH & EXPRESSION AT ALL COST."
We are a unique non-profit in that regard. We take pride in rewarding every donation received, and every donor / supporter with collectable, artistic gifts that can not be found anywhere else.
Here at The Poet's House we passionately believe that the essence of life, liberty and happiness go hand in hand with the freedom to hold and express personal beliefs. We believe it is a god-given Right to freely share opinions and ideas without fear of harm or interference. And that these are fundamental to the health and growth of the individual and the nation.
Throughout Laurence's many artistic works we continue to see his core belief that a better world begins each time one person makes one other person's day just a bit more beautiful.
Some call that art. Laurence calls it hope for Humanity.
