Our History

E. Laurence Bake began a professional career as a creative artist, performing in coffee houses at the tender age of 15. He has been a productive, multi-talented artist ever since.

In 1991 The Burns Agency For Scottish Arts proclaimed him, "A National Treasure" for his works as a poet / music composer.

In 2022 Laurence donated the complete collection of his life's poetic works and artistic creations to The Poet's House. The full catalogue of Laurence's work is vast and awe inspiring. As a result, one of North America's most modern and highly innovative non- profit organizations was born.

Nearing his 75th birthday Laurence lives in small town Canada most of the year, and in the USA the rest of the time. He still finds great joy in his writing, painting, research, studies in art, philosophy, and working in his music recording studio..
